- LIHEAP News - Energy Assistance Information

Cerebral Palsy Association wants to make sure all of our consumers and their families get all of the energy assistance they need this winter. Pennsylvania’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) starts November 3rd and helps low income people pay their heating bills through home heating energy assistance grants and crisis grants. In order to qualify for this program, the household income must be 150% of the Federal Poverty level or lower. You do not need not to have an unpaid bill to receive home heating energy assistance, and you can receive this money without being in the Cash Assistance program. If you need assistance please call the LIHEAP hotline at 1-866-857-7095 or call one of our Social Workers at CPA of CC: 610-524-5850. Below are the income guidelines:
Household Size                       Income Limit 150 Percent FPIG*
1                                  $15,600
2                                  $21,000
3                                  $26,400
4                                  $31,800
Each Additional Person Add $5,400In order to apply for this assistance, call 610-446-1042, or apply online at: https://www.humanservices.state.pa.us/compass/CMHOM
For more information, please contact the LIHEAP hotline at 1-866-857-7095, Monday through Friday (individuals with hearing impairments may call the TDD number at 1-800-451-5886).
Another program offered at this time is the Crisis Grants. This program goes hand in hand with LIHEAP and is applied for automatically when you apply for LIHEAP. If you have an emergency situation and are in jeopardy of losing your heat, extra money may be provided. This money will assist with fixing broken heating equipment, termination of utility service problems, and if you are in danger of being without fuel. Assistance with home heating crisis situations is available 24 hours a day, by calling your local county assistance office (610-466-1042).
