What is the Computer Telecommunications Project?
The program provides individuals with physical disabilities and their families
with computers and training to allow them to use the internet and other
community on-line services.

Who is eligible?
You should meet a few :
- Physically disabled adults living in their own homes
who would like to communicate with others are provided
an introduction to the computer and Internet.
- Families of young children with disabilities who would
like to network with other families with similar circumstances.
- Chester County Resident (include metro. pottstown area)

What are the costs?
Depending on what the client already owns, the agency
can supply at no cost to the client, computers, modems,
printers, software, accessories and adaptive items. Client
is responsible for Internet subscription costs.

Do I have to be Computer Literate?
No. The agency has hired a full time trainer to work with clients in
their homes to teach the basics of writing, reading and sending messages
via the Internet.

Where does the agency obtain the computers?
The agency has been receiving donated computers which
are still in working order from individuals and companies
who have upgraded their systems and would like to have their
older equipment put to good use.
The agency can provide receipts for tax purposes and if
necessary, will pick up the donated equipment if located
within a reasonable distance.

What can I do on-line?
There are a variety of chat rooms and groups where you can discuss or just
read others' discussions on thousands of different subjects, subscribe
to news groups to meet others who can offer support and resources on all
topics, including disabilities.
On the subject of disability, there are a number of informational sources
and on-line support groups. The Cerebral Palsy Association of Chester
County has a web-site where the agency can be contacted about cerebral
palsy and other physical disabilities 24 hours a day.
