Quality Management

Why is Quality Management Important?

Cerebral Palsy Association of Chester County incorporates a continuous quality management system that provides the opportunity to translate the services we provide into measurable outcomes. The framework for quality domains include: access to services; consumer-centered service delivery; consumer safeguards; consumer rights and responsibilities; consumer outcomes and satisfaction; provider capabilities and system performance. Some of the ways we monitor and evaluate the work of the organization and its effectiveness are:

  • Individualized goal
  • Program goals
  • Client surveys
  • Team case studies
  • Consultation
  • Focus groups
  • Regular client feedback

What are Logic models?

All programs provided by the agency have logic models that specify what outcomes are measured and the indicators for success. The different methods of quality assessment allow the staff to constantly ask themselves if they are doing the “right things” for our consumers. The feedback from the essential question “what can we do different, better or new that can increase the excellence of our services” is essential to the quality assurance process. This continuous process results in ensuring that programs are operating at the highest level and facilitates a close relationship between direct staff, administration and our consumers. Our Quality Management year end report is the critical part of the feedback loop in continuous quality management. The results indicated in the annual quality management report institute changes in procedure, policy, benchmarks, training needs and provide critical information to the Board’s strategic planning process.

This continuous process allows us to make very well thought out and planned changes to all programs and when needed shifting of our infrastructure. This quality philosophy leads to results:

  • 99% of families report success in children’s program
  • 98% of our consumers live independently in their own communities and avert nursing home placement.
