Volunteer Opportunities

SILLI Play Group: This group is for children who have language and sensory needs. The group is held on Tuesday mornings from 9:30-11:00am at CPA in Exton. Children and their parents attend and participate in a structured learning environment. Volunteers will assist our Early Intervention staff to help children to work on choice making, following directions, and playing as part of a group.

Play Together at West Grove Area Daycare: This is a fully inclusive group where children with developmental disabilities can interact with typically developing peers. Volunteers will assist our Early Intervention staff to help children participate in a variety of activities; including arts, crafts, circle time and snack. The group is held on Thursday mornings from 9:00- 11:30am at the West Grove Daycare.

Recreation Group: This group will consist of children ages 3-6 who have developmental delays and/or physical disabilities. Field trips will be planned on a biweekly basis to local attractions including the zoo, parks, farms, etc. Parents and their child attend and are supported by staff from Early Intervention and volunteers.

Special Needs Child Care: Volunteers are currently needed for child care one night per month from 7-9pm during our Parent Support Group for Parents of Children with Physical Disabilities. Other Child Care opportunities available. Times/Days vary. Holiday Breakfast: The holiday breakfast is an annual event held at the Elks Lodge in West Chester on the First Saturday of December. Families who have been and who are currently being served by CPA are invited to a pancake breakfast with Santa. Volunteers are needed to hand out toys and to assist children in making crafts.

Canoe Race: CPA partners with the Northbrook Canoe Company to hold a 9 mile canoe race annually to benefit our organization. This is our largest fundraising event. Volunteers are needed to assist at our Canoe Race typically held on the first Sunday in May from 8-4.

Fund Raising: Most of our fundraising efforts occur in April and May, to coincide with the Canoe Race. Previously we have sold soft pretzels, and raffled an autographed Flyers jersey. Please call for other opportunities. Friendly Visitors for Adults with Physical Disabilities: Volunteers are wanted to interact with physically disabled adults in their homes or communities. Times vary between 8am and 4:30pm; Monday through Friday.
