What are Community Social Services?

Community Social Services (CSS) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of adults and children with physical disabilities in Chester County and surrounding areas by offering a diverse array of services and opportunities. 

Our comprehensive program includes:

Information and Referral: Access to valuable resources and guidance on disability-related issues, along with referrals to essential county agencies and services. 

• Advocacy: Dedicated support and assistance for individuals with disabilities, as well as their families and friends, to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are upheld. Efforts include reaching out to Medicaid/Medicare providers, Insurance companies, County Assistance Offices, Landlords and other community supports
• Community Education: Engaging speakers and educational sessions for groups and organizations interested in learning more about disability awareness and inclusion. 
• Assistive Technology Lending Library: Access to a wide range of adaptive toys and equipment, providing individuals with the tools they need to enhance their independence and quality of life. 
• Client Assistance Grants: An annual opportunity for Chester County residents with physical disabilities to apply for grants to acquire essential assistive technology items. 
• Support Groups: A nurturing environment for individuals and families to connect, share experiences, and provide mutual support. 
• Social Work Disability Services: Tailored social work support services to address the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. 
• We provide valuable resources and referrals to support services for children with special needs. Our team helps coordinate referrals to appropriate agencies and provides families with personalized information based on the unique needs of their child.
